Charles has been a member of the Barbershop Harmony Society for 30 years, almost 20 of which, as a member of the San Francisco Cable Car Chorus. He served as President of the San Francisco Chapter for the year 2007.
He has sung with the old Oakland/Berkeley and Bay Area Metro Choruses and, for a while, with Voices In Harmony along with the SF Cable Car Quartets: Jack London Squires, San Andreas Faults, Grounds Four Da
Voice (mixed), Time Be Four (still active), and Top of the Mark .
Charles
was Assistant Director of the SF Cable Car Chorus for fifteen years. He attended Director's College in 2006, and is an arranger (of Public Domain music only).
