Charles has been a member of the Barbershop Harmony
Society for 30 years, almost 20 of which, as a
member of the San Francisco Cable Car Chorus. He
served as President of the San Francisco Chapter for
the year 2007.
He has sung with the old Oakland/Berkeley and Bay Area
Metro Choruses and, for a while, with Voices In
Harmony along with the SF Cable Car Quartets:
Jack London Squires, San Andreas Faults,
Grounds Four Da Voice (mixed), Time Be Four (still
active), and Top of the Mark (still active).
Charles has been Assistant Director of the SF Cable Car
Chorus for fifteen years. He attended Director's
College in 2006, and is an arranger (of Public
Domain music only).
